I met the Glossops about 8 years ago. I had just started at Loveland and was extremely pregnant. Them, being of grandparent age, took to me immediately. Over time, they came to visit the library once a week and adjusted their schedule for when I was there. And I adjusted mine so that I could be on the desk to greet them. Should I not be around, they always asked for me and took a moment to catch up and tell funny stories. Russ is the outgoing one. Always shaking my hand upon greeting, teasing me about not remembering their first names and me insisting I continue to call them by their last. Patricia was sweet, so kind, so interested in me as a mother, not as a librarian. They were so kind to each other, in how they talked and showed body language. It was a delight to see, it made me happy. When I was promoted to Symmes Township 2 years later, they came to visit me on my first day just so that I would see a familiar face and to cheer me on. I didn’t get my weekly visits but they would come see me from time to time. Six years later, my friend Amy who works at Loveland told me that Patricia had passed away suddenly. The service was close by and I considered going. I didn’t really process her loss and I felt imposing to show up. So I made excuses and didn’t go. Today, while I am at Symmes, Russ comes to visit and asks for me. He explains to me her passing. Saying she was on the computer, she called him in, telling him she’s dizzy. He goes in and wraps his arms around her, lays her head on his chest and at that moment, she simply dies. I cry. I am so touched, so sad. I have weird feelings about it. Sad at her loss, what a profound loss. Sorry for him, an obviously devastating thing to see him experience. Happy that they were in this connected moment upon her passing and jealous and hopeful that when I go, it could possible to have that kind of moment too. Russ and I cry together for a minute and he takes my hand, gives me a big squeeze and I walk to the back and lose it. Three hours later, I am still crying. When I gather myself together, a coworker comes to tell me that Russ had to go but he wanted me to know that he loves me.

I’m feeling a bit this today. Big ass cheesy grin, way too much gum action. But full on happiness. Went to this super fancy Breast Center. It was a follow up appointment. It seems a few months ago I had some lumps on one side and while they were checking that out, hey let’s feel up your other side and looky here, there’s lumps over here! Wth? So they take a look and turns out it looks “hairy”. That’s the word they used, hairy. And I took a sneak peek at the ultrasound, and indeed it DID LOOK HAIRY. Biggest reason for cysts? Stress. Yep. Well, obviously….that doesn’t work. So we gave it some time, did some things, focused on what makes me happy. And today, I find that while still lumpy, that’s all it is, lumps. I go hairless. So I urge you, don’t let your bewbs get hairy. Find some way to let happiness in.

My contract is 2 years, fine. I’m not eligible for an upgrade until June, 4 months before my contract expires. My phone is working SHITTY now. Like, really terrible. I am looking at my options but buying a phone for $600 does not appeal to me, not when I can get some deal when my contract ends. The only company that offers to buy out a current contract is Cincinnati Bell and they SUCK. So bad. So, I don’t know what to doooooooo……

Suggestions? All real and imagined are welcome.
